Meriç Çağlıaydın Altınok is an internationally experienced corporate lawyer advising multinational corporations, international investors and senior executives on complex cross-border legal and commercial matters. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and international business transactions, with extensive experience supporting companies operating across Europe, the Middle East and Türkiye. She currently serves as Global Corporate Affairs Manager and Corporate Legal Counsel at Transitex Portugal, where she advises executive management on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, institutional relations and strategic legal matters. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and international legal teams, she leads the review and negotiation of domestic and cross-border commercial agreements, monitors regulatory developments affecting the business and supports high-level corporate decision-making across multiple jurisdictions. Prior to joining Transitex, Meriç advised international clients in Portugal on immigration and real estate investments, acting as the principal legal liaison between foreign investors and Portuguese legal professionals. Her work involved coordinating complex cross-border transactions, negotiating property acquisition documentation and managing multi-jurisdictional client relationships from inception through completion. Before relocating to Portugal, Meriç built an extensive in-house legal career with leading multinational organisations. As Corporate Legal Counsel at ISS Turkey, she advised on sophisticated commercial contracts, procurement, employment law, public tenders, data protection and corporate compliance matters while partnering closely with commercial, operational and executive teams on strategic projects. Her role included identifying legal and commercial risks, supporting contract negotiations and ensuring that contractual frameworks reflected both business objectives and corporate governance standards. Earlier in her career, she was a member of the executive team at Cleanzy Group, where she supported the company’s international expansion strategy across multiple European jurisdictions. She advised on commercial contracts, employment matters, cross-border legal operations and regulatory issues while coordinating legal work with external counsel in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Türkiye. Meriç also gained significant private practice experience at internationally recognised law firms, including DWF Turkey, AK Law Firm, Aksan Law Firm, SunEdison Turkey and Esin Attorney Partnership, a member firm of Baker McKenzie International. During this period, she advised domestic and international clients on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, banking and finance, renewable energy projects, corporate restructurings, foreign direct investment, employment law and complex commercial transactions. Her experience spans both transactional work and ongoing legal advisory services for multinational enterprises operating in highly regulated industries. Meriç holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, where she specialised in International Law and Human Rights & Social Justice. During her postgraduate studies she received the International High Achiever Scholarship, was named to the Dean’s Honour List for Academic Excellence and was awarded the highest mark for her research on international child labour. She earned her Bachelor of Laws from Bahçeşehir University, graduating with High Honours while receiving academic scholarships throughout her legal education. She is fluent in English and Turkish and has working proficiency in Portuguese, enabling her to advise clients on cross-border matters involving multiple legal systems and international stakeholders. Her combination of private practice and multinational in-house experience allows her to deliver commercially focused, pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice tailored to the needs of global businesses.
